Expedia recently released the results of a study they conducted that broke down the booking habits of travelers heading into Labor Day Weekend. According to the study, the absolute worst possible day to travel will be Friday, September 2. The most crowded airports are expected to be Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago O’Hare, John F. Kennedy and Dallas/Fort Worth. Expedia recommends traveling between Wednesday, August 31 and Thursday September 1, citing that though congestion will still be an issue at most popular airports, traveling during those days will result in saving money and avoiding headaches. 

The study also examined hotel deals during Labor Day Weekend and found that average daily rates have dropped in many popular tourist destinations including Phoenix, Austin, New Orleans, Cape Cod, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.
