New Orleans is often considered one of the spookiest cities in America as the state is filled with haunted-theme hotels and concerts. The city also offers a ghost tour in the historic French Quarter along with a children’s museum filled with fun games. The official “Krewe of Boo” parade is also held in this city during the Halloween season and many tourists come out to see the event every year.
 

Salem, Massachusetts

Salem is the city that is world-famous for their 1692 Salem witch trials. During the period, nearly 200 women and men were found guilty of practicing witchcraft and 20 were executed. The Salem Witch Museum explains the history of the occurrence and helps visitors understand why and how the skepticism of witchcraft was developed.

All throughout the month of October, Salem Haunted Happenings hosts a Halloween festival, ghost tours, trick-or-treating tours, and more that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Along with the world-famous Halloween Day Parade, New York state is also known for its spooky city, Sleepy Hollow. The most famous scary haunts for older kids and adults include the Horseman’s Hollow and Irving’s Legend. For younger children, there are more activities such as the Ghoul’s House of Curiosities and “The Legend Behind the Legend” at the home of Washington Irving.
